ALIBIAGENCIES Get in touch

Life insurance, explained plainly.

We're an independent brokerage in Troy, Michigan. That means we aren't tied to one insurance company. We look at many of them, tell you honestly what we find, and help you pick coverage that fits your family and your budget.

Why we're called Alibi.

An alibi is proof you were somewhere else. We liked the idea of flipping it. Life insurance is how you show up for your family even when you can't be there.

Nobody enjoys thinking about this. That's exactly why we try to make it easy: no jargon, no pressure, and a real person to ask when something doesn't make sense.

Not sure where to start?

What we can help you with

Term life

Coverage for a set stretch of time, often 10, 20 or 30 years. It costs the least, which is why it's what most young families and new homeowners choose.

Whole life

Coverage that lasts as long as you do. The premium stays the same and the policy builds cash value you can borrow against. It costs more, and some people want exactly that.

Indexed universal life (IUL)

Permanent coverage whose cash value can grow with a market index, like the S&P 500, without investing in the market directly. There's usually a floor so it doesn't lose value when the index drops, and a cap on how much it can earn.

Final expense

A smaller policy meant to cover a funeral and last bills, so your kids aren't paying for it out of pocket. Often simpler to qualify for.

How working with us goes

No forms to fill out before you've spoken to a person. We'd rather start with a conversation.

  1. First, we listen.

Who depends on you? What do you owe? What would you want to leave behind? There are no wrong answers, and it doesn't cost anything.

  2. Then we compare.

Because we work with many carriers, we can line up your options side by side: price, financial strength and the fine print that's easy to miss.

  3. After that, we stay in touch.

We help with the application and answer questions long after you sign. When you have a baby, buy a house or change jobs, call us and we'll see if your coverage still fits.

A local team you can reach anytime

Alibi Agencies is based at 800 Tower Dr in Troy, Michigan. Would you rather talk than fill out a long form? Leave your number and a broker will give you a call.

Our brokers work around the clock and hold licenses in many states, so if you move, travel, or have family elsewhere, we can still help. Life does not keep office hours, and neither do we.

We are a brokerage, which means no single insurer decides what we recommend. We learn about your situation and give you a straight answer about your options, even when the best fit is a smaller or cheaper policy than you expected.

Questions people often ask

How much life insurance do I need?

It depends on who relies on you and what you owe. A common rule of thumb is several years of your income plus your debts. We can work out a number together, and a quote will show you what it costs.

What's the difference between term and whole life?

Term covers you for a set number of years and costs less. Whole life covers you for good and builds cash value, but the premium is higher. Plenty of families end up with some of each.

What does it cost to work with a broker?

Talking with us is free. Brokers are generally paid by the insurance company when a policy is placed, so you don't pay us separately for advice.

Will I need a medical exam?

No. You never need a medical exam. Instead, the carrier checks your records with the MIB (Medical Information Bureau), which holds your medical and insurance history. We'll tell you at the start what to expect so there are no surprises.

Can I still get coverage if I have a health condition?

Often, yes. Insurance companies look at health history differently, and part of our job is finding the one that treats your situation fairly.
